I have never been, and nor will I ever be, addicted to drugs or alcohol. Drug addictions ruin lives, and it's not just the life of the user. Junkies, particularly heroin junkies, tend to try to take everyone around them down with them.

How would I know? Well, I haven't been through it as you're so intent on insisting I have, but I've known plenty of junkies. My previous corner of the world had more than enough substance abuse to go around. Many of them are dead now. Some of them were family. They made their choices and ended up dealing with the ultimate consequence. Self destruction is not something I can sympathize with though. "Mentally-weak" indeed.
