Response? We don't respond on the left, we investigate and learn.

Unlike the right wing where science is a tool of social dominance and global warming or evolution are rejected when they're inconvenient for the plutocrats or theocrats pulling the strings, the left believes in truth. When the truth leads in an unexpected direction, we study it and check the results and then we learn the new thing that has been discovered. The only test is truth.

It's hard for the right to understand since they're so committed to obeying power, but we want to know the truth wherever it leads. We're pro-science not because we expect to 'win,' but because science and truth are good.

Whichever way the cognitive ability science goes, learning the truth will offer us new ways to help people and especially future generations to be smarter and build a better world for everyone.

As a fellow leftist, I would counter that each side clings to certain politically convenient mistruths, and not recognizing these tendencies in all political groups is indicative of thorough brainwashing.
