Ask HN: Launch HN for non YC projects/biz?

Can anyone recall any products / business that launched using HackerNews? I know we have the Launch HN posts, but they appear to be for YC companies.

What products/services (that eventually charged money) used HN to get pre-launch feedback or post-launch users?

* Also, I know about Product Hunt etc, just wondering specifically about HN.
