Recently a makeup artist complained that she works harder than programmers and yet programmers get paid lot more to just sit in front of screen and type (to paraphrase her).

Author's article comes from the standard "intellectual idiot" standpoint that goes something like this "this is what is wrong with the world, only if I had the power to change it I would have made it better"

Author is ignorant of the fact that intelligence correlates with economic output which also means you are more valuable to society. That is how markets work and will always work.
