I feel this too.

The biggest tech upgrades I've experienced recently are -

The Coway Washlet, no barbaric use of toilet paper.

The Japanese Yutanpo or hot water bottle, lasts 50% longer than my western traditional rubber sort.

There's not much in Silicon Valley that impresses me, it is possible I'm taking a lot of change for granted but much of the Valley seems stagnant - faux progress like those incredible mechanical toys the French artisans used to invent while some illiterates in England were rolling out the water wheel.
