That book is both beautiful, interesting and entertaining. I highly recommend it.

Flight data recorders, also known as “black boxes” are actually orange in color. They were once black, like the other avionics boxes on the aircraft until it was decided that it would be easier to find them.

Orange has always been my favorite colour, it just feels so pleasant looking at it.

I wish they would explain more about the biological reasons for this.

I'd guess it has something to do with the fact that human skin tones all fall within some range of orange. This is the reason behind the pervasive use of orange and teal color grading in TV and movies: it accentuates the contrast between people and the rest of the scene.

It is also my favourite colour. I wear it a lot, and it is easy to combine with a lot of colors: teal, teal + green, red + yellow, or any combination of black, white, gray, and brown.

Since I'm from The Netherlands me wearing orange quickly gets associated with loving my country, the royal family, the football team -- just to name a bunch. However, its none of that; it is the colour itself which I very much adore. It makes me happy seeing it, it reminds me of spring, and nostalgic.

I don't really like orange. I'm kind of colour blind. I find it hard to look at. It's not really red and green that bother me so much but certain shades of orange and yellowy-green side by side makes my brain hurt. They both just end up looking like a browny mud colour to me. I've just never been the biggest fan of orange.

> Anyway, I don't like salmon, it's too orange, I don't eat anything orange, except for oranges because they admit that they're orange.
