Elon didn't delete his account, but he did delete a number of tweets which may violate an NDA he signed with one of the actual founders of Tesla (before Elon rewrote Tesla's history to make himself founder).[1]

I don't think Musk needs to delete his account, but he certainly needs to surrender direct access to it. Somebody with absolute veto power should be vetting everything that goes out over it.
