Tell HN: Universities Are Evil

2 points| ne01 | 6 years ago

Low energy students walking like zombies from one class to another looking so desperately for the definition of the world.

So helpless, so clueless, they rid themselves from curiosity and keep drinking the poison of knowledge. Convinced that the books are the source of truth, they keep reading and descending to the land of certainty.

Soon, they become zombies, repeating what they read, they become the words and the books they read.

In a few years, the process will complete and suck the last drop of blood from their curious childhood's blood. Meanwhile, Zeus is roaring from anger, seeing his children so easily submit to the evil without a fight.

We are no longer in a world where you have to pay for knowledge. We are no longer in a world where only a few posses "it". The evil no longer has a reason to lure you into the hell of knowledge.

Fight back and never stay silent. Universities are killing curiosity, they are killing freedom to do things in new interesting ways. They fill brains with useless information and enslave them. As if that is not bad enough they humiliate students by making them pay for this evil process.

Don't ever submit to any organization that fills your brain with ideas of how something should be done. All those organizations are evil, Including Y Combinator.

Fight back, children of Zeus. Fight back with your freedom of being anything you want to be. Break the chains of knowledge and rid yourself from the known, then once the moment is free of any meaning... re-define it with your heart.

Submit to no king and accept no one as a leader. Freely and bravely find your own way.

Based and spot on. Universities have the dogmatic part of them which most think that whatever they teach is useful in the industry, but in reality the knowledge they give is just as relevant as the middle ages.

On top of that, you get into debt due to this which just isn't worth it for the student. You might as well pirate the whole course to get value for money in return for teaching you ancient history (if the course is computer science).

So in the case for a computer science degree from a less known university, its a evil scam. But from a world class university, its better but less of a scam. High Energy students teach themselves.
