From what I see here in the Bay area, the social distancing is being followed quite well. Our family has not been within 6 feet of others in the past week, except once in a grocery store where it was unavoidable.

Two days ago in Costco, they were allowing only a certain number of people in the store at any one time.

Libraries, playgrounds have been closed...

Having driven through my Costco's parking lot Friday they were doing the same, only xx people in the store at a time, at a safe distance.

Now the line of 200+ people outside was packed in like sardines. Something else needs to be figured out to limit things safely.

social distancing is the best option but not it. The virus is still out there and maybe millions have it by now in USA. We needs meds to cure it and/or a vaccine

I certainly hope that his minority opinion translates into reality. That said, adherence to social distancing measures, self-isolation and quarantine seems to be significantly greater in many of the countries he's mentioned as opposed to North America and much of Western Europe. Italian level mortality levels to incite adherence in "slacker" countries would be catastrophic.
