Ask HN: Successful one-person online businesses in 2020?
1 points| kinkora | 6 years ago
Anecdotally in my own circle, the people in eCommerce are the most successful and doing almost black friday sales figures on a daily basis for the past few months at least. Not to mention, profit margins are higher since this is minus the big discounts one usually offers for that day. The ones with SaaS/services are a 50-50 split and generally speaking, the consumer & small business facing ones are seeing huge spike in churns where else the remote work related service ones are seeing double digit growth.
Note, definition of successful one-person online businesses remains the same as prior threads:
> How many people on hacker news are running successful online businesses on their own? What is your business and how did you get started?
> Defining successful as a profitable business which provides the majority of the owners income.
