Has that been proven to be detrimental to the battery? I don't really follow that tech-side, so it would be good to know -how- detrimental it is.

Very. My MBPs are normally plugged in and the battery is almost always degraded by the end of year 1. I’m looking forward to this update just for the battery protection.

(And I know I should try to keep my MBP unplugged as much as I can, but it’s normally docked.)
