How do you have motivation to do this kind of stuff in your free time?

For me it was that I stopped reading the news, and generally 'consuming' the media. Not only did it clear out several hours in the day, but it also generally allowed me to focus on being productive instead of being outraged or saddened by whatever was being peddled that day.
