Ask HN: How do you measure feedback and progress made by your reports?

We use a regular 1-1 process, mid-year and yearly review cycles. Outside of these I want to give feedback and provide coaching to my reports but want a means to measure their improvement (i.e: incremental change).

While I can certainly give feedback, and observe an improvement as a whole I am wondering what is the best way to track an improvement along with my report. What are some things that have worked for you?

Can progress against all feedback be actually measured? For example: Code quality vs presentation skills.
