I think your definition of "Intelligence" is much too restricted. It is "Knowledge" which leads to "Wisdom" and makes you more "Intelligent" (for a certain definition.) "Knowledge" is the pre-requisite. It is what allows you to see the inter-play and interaction between concepts and ideas leading you towards better understanding thus making you more "Intelligent".
