If you exclude ballistic missiles, I'm fairly certain Taiwan could repel the PLA independently, with predjudice. They have better air, navy, and land equipment. The Chinese have untested equipment and conscripted soldiers (that aren't issued body armor). I think China would eventually win an attrition war, but Taiwan is unlikely to let it come to that.

“Quantity has a quality all it's own”, though, and the PRC has quantity in spades.

Also, “if you exclude ballistic missiles” is a big caveat.

China doesn't military conscription. You should fact check your statement.

China doesn't have mandatory military service, Taiwan does.
