I checked the 2 salaries posted in my city [0] [1] and they seem a lot higher than the local market.

Is this due to selection bias where only the top paid people would volunteer their salary information or is the data collection flawed?

Unluckily, as it is a crowdsourced list I cant asure you that is not inflated by the submitters, but I try to keep it clean removing the submissions that are obviously fake, and people can report the ones that think that are not 100% true as well using the link at the bottom of the Salary Details Page.

To be completely honest i don't have a solution for that right now, I just build the site to replace all the spreadsheets that are around there, where people share their salaries in companies to give an idea to other (and themselves) if they are underpaid. I can say that they work realy well by my experience, even though they have the same issue. You need to see the overall picture, and try to get an idea, but don't take the highest and lowest values.

Anyways, I open to ideas, and suggestions of how can I improve the data submission.

I like the idea, especially due to recent Glassdoor misbehavings, but the ultimate question still remains - how can we know we can trust this app? What makes it more trustworthy than Glassdoor?

Yeap, to be honest I just put that title to get more attention, but also I can say that is a crowdsourced list, and I'm not getting paid by any company to submit any data. Unluckily I didn't find a way yet to keep the submission easy enough to keep people sharing their salaries but not too much to prevent trolls to post fake ones. Anyways I regularly cleaning the DB and removing fake submissions by hand, and some people are reporting them using the link at the bottom of the salary details Page. I'm open to ideas to make this site more trustworthy. I think I was to naive to think that people would understand that the only way to help each other is submitting their real salary.

Not operating a business around it makes it seem a little more trustworthy than say Glassdoor to me personally. Then again, you still rely entirely on whatever people enter.
