You won't get latest hardware, but you don't need to care about noise and get a real public IP in return. After experimenting with enterprise hardware in a 1room apartment, I found that to be a nice alternative.

I recently got a 4C Xeon/64GB Memory/2x500G SSD for 35€/month... it's also a nice alternative to Cloud, since canceling period is only 30days.
