I was just thinking how nice it would be if there was a reliable system powered by governments or other trusted entities that could verify which accounts are real citizens of a particular country online. Then you could have an API to show which Twitter accounts were bots from another country so you could have an international network but have some visibility into potential bad actors.

Is there any way to do this besides uploading or mailing your government ID to Twitter?
