I'm typing this comment on a phone connected to a standard monitor, running a desktop-like experience [0] and it's surprisingly usable!

Hardware - Samsung S8 (2017), generic USB-C to HDMI adapter, bluetooth keyboard and mouse.

I do this with my Samsung note 10. Also when I plug my Samsung tablet into my usb-c monitor I get a nice desktop. Lastly, purism’s phone supports phone-as-desktop as well

PinePhone as well - the PostMarketOS even shipped with a HDMI/ethernet/USB dock for this. :)
