HCQ is not recommended by AMJMED.

The linked article is a review and cites four studies on HCQ use in COVID-19 as possible evidence that HCQ when used earlier in the disease course can reduce mortality. The 200 mg/d regimen is called "typical" and falls short of a recommendation.

Multiple systematic reviews and meta-analyses (just look here: https://scholar.google.com/scholar?as_ylo=2021&q=hydroxychlo...) have failed to find evidence of a robust effect of HCQ on mortality or other variables in COVID-19.

Negative media coverage has been earned. HCQ has no place in the treatment of COVID-19.
