Thank you Davis! Your help is much appreciated! I also saw theres a cheap ferry going to the bahamas from miami so thats a huge plus as well! I also know those beaches are the best on the East Coast for surfing and nothing can beat that haha.

One question I have is whether part-time jobs are available in the area to fall back on in case my startup is cash-strapped? Jobs like uber and doordash and the sorts?

Yep. There are both manufacturing and tourist part time jobs that are almost always available. Plus Uber, Lyft, door dash etc is all here.

And Yea I've done the ferry quite a few times, definitely a cool way IMO. There are lots of ways to get to the Bahamas from Florida daily. And generally it is pretty inexpensive.
