In interviews for a particular role, sometimes I will be asked, "What is it that you want to do?" Right now I'm fresh out of college and I'm trying to get my foot in the door in the industry. I am willing to do anything and can't be picky, though I understand why they don't know that, because I try to hide my desperation. The question is strange though; you applied to the job, so why should the question be asked? Is the answer not, "this job"? Certainly it's not a matter of "what do you feel most qualified to do;" certainly little is expected out of someone with no experience. So what is meant when the question is asked?
