I question the veracity of this article from its source, but some people do dumb things in divorces. Divorce, beyond social and psychological trauma, itself is a windfall for lawyers and destroys balance sheet worth and living expense efficiencies of both parties.

- Don't even think about living with someone without a palnup.

- Prenup that supersedes most community property.

- Only get married to have kids with someone you've know for years, e.g., don't marry crazy, unmotivated, unhelpful, unsupportive, easily-offended, immature, dramatic, hopeless, insecure, narcissistic, dramatic, addictions (screens, video games, substances, gambling, cheating, stealing, lying, etc.) and/or irrational people at random you just met a month ago.

- Put in the work in marriage.

- Set expectations that the honeymoon phase will wear off.

- Choose your battles.

- Disagree without making it personal.

- Keep money and sex rolling in.

- Communicate what's vital with integrity, i.e., honesty, courage, and empathy.

- Spice it up. Not just that.
