It's not the same thing. The argument would have to be: violent video games lead to more violent video games, which, anecdotally, I would probably say they do.

The concern is that child pornography leads to more children in danger. This is akin to violent video games lead to violence.

We don't ban child pornography because it leads to more viewing of child pornography. We ban it because we recognise that demand for CSAM breeds supply of new CSAM. Also because it is—by definition—the product of child abuse.
