I haven't seen this get enough attention. Lots of us that have worked at tech companies have seen the toxic environment that these people create. Imagine having your colleagues vocally goading you into taking up some cause, where you either have to just go along with them or assert yourself and risk reprisal or at least conflict. It's really not a nice way to work. Defending the activists is really saying fuck you to the rest of the employees and not supporting them against a hostile minority.
