I think it's important to note the limitations of these kinds of scales for tracking body fat percentage. From what I remember reading, the technique they use is a measuring of electrical current though the body and then it calculates body fat percentage based on the resistance it detects.
The problem I've read about is that these scales tend to only send electricity the legs and not the entire body, which does not give a great reading on many body types. (I'm not an expert, so please correct me if I'm wrong here)
I think I've seen some other devices that incorporate electrodes on the hands in addition to the feet for a more accurate read. Would be great to see this kind of device added to the project if not already done.
I have always been more interested in measuring body fat % than body weight personally, as there is nothing more depressing to me than standing on a scale befuddled by my random weight fluctuations :).
