The build back better bill didn’t get enough news cycles and was being overshadowed by Omicron negativity. This is a easy PR win to just have Manchin force a re-do. They get another media cycle and get to spin it in their favor (which you must do when you pass a trillion+ bill, to have approval ratings drop after that price tag is a no go, do it again).
