Why am I struggling?

Why is everything becoming more difficult every day?

Why did I go from top of the class to bottom? Were all my previous successes all flukes? Have I always been this stupid?

Where is all my energy gone? Where is all my hope?

Is this the right path? Is it of my choice or have I been conditioned to pursue it?

Is there a role for me in this world? Am I just a side character in my own life?

Where can I find some guidance? Philosophy, Religion, Science, History?

Is there something wrong with me? Why haven't I been able to connect with people? Do I want to connect with people in the first place?

Isaiah 55:1-3 springs to mind: "Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness. Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David."

Is Learning this skill/achieving this long term goal for self improvement worth it? Will AI manage to do this in a few years and make this skill worthless? It’s very hard to know what skills to invest in during the rise of AI.

AI's weakness is it doesn't work well where there's not enough data. It can memorize all the recipes and correlate them to produce a good one. But it can't reach the level of the best chef in the world, because the best chefs don't have their methodology down as data. Even if they did, it would change rapidly enough to stay ahead.

With chess, it's the same board and pieces. A thousand years of experience and it can detect all moves, even the meme ones that crop up recently. Similar with DOTA, Go, music.

I tried to get it to write dialogue, and it writes very good ones! But it can't produce the shivers down your spine work nor do something like Harry Potter, which is about human relationships.

If I try to think about the list of

- skills that AI has already made obsolete

- skills that AI is likely to make obsolete in the near future

I'm struggling to come up with that many. It doesn't seem like too big of a deal.
