Why are people so surprised he fired a bunch of people via Zoom? How does one fire people during covid? He wasn't going to call them into the office.
Now, I understand that (at least on the surface) this guy seems like a bad guy, so, sure, give him hell if it's deserved, but why the focus on a zoom firing?
Yeah, good call.. feel free to remove "Zoom" as you're reading. I agree, it's irrelevant in some aspects, however, i would posit he likened to the idea of Zoom for dismissing his staff, as he could do this without actually looking into the the 'whites of their eyes' while dismissing them.
Look man this is the United States which is a corporatocracy. If me taking off my shirt will increase shareholder or investor value then that will be it. This guy took the brunt but he had some time to chill , play golf, do yoga at a resort and now he is back a changed man . Jack Welch’s of today .
Everyday I regret immigrating to this country with no social safety net , scam of a healthcare and run by grifters, hustlers, slick and cunning where corporate is king . Hey but we are all making money off the stock market.
As in so many other domains, i'm disappointed but not surprised. The corporation let this douche-bag 'cool-off' and is now bringing him back to invigorate the company .. awesome .. can't wait to see how that pans out

The CEO hardly mentioned it, let alone showed up to announce it…

Even divorce papers are sent by mail or exchanged through lawyers.
And if someone is not needed for the job anymore people feel it should by as dramataic as reality tv.
