The truth lies somewhere in between. Perhaps NATO was too aggressive in some of its actions but Putin too has been a horrible dictator too. I do think that the US and NATO have been arrogant in their actions and not knowing how to handle Putin. You can't just do whatever you want and say "suck it up" to Putin. On the other hand Putin has been horrible to his people and is constantly trying to get more power (as in killing/eliminating his opposition and rigging elections and lying to his people). Sigh. But I believe more communication is needed. You can't just play pile-on with Putin and expect a clean victory. You force him in a corner and who knows what will happen next.

NATO expansion did not trigger the war, Putin did that. It surely was a factor in his decision, however. If NATO, which after the fall of the Soviet Union lost its original reason for existence, had disbanded or even just stopped expanding, we'd surely be looking at a different situation today.

Yeah, we'd probably be trying to reinstate NATO in a hurry.

Democratic Socialists just told us who they are, not who the blame lies with.
