I think they're more talking about how in Zelda you can break into everyone's house, steal their money and smash all their pots, and they never acknowledge how you've violated them.

It is possible to shoplift any item in the store by simply picking it up and walking out the door while the owner is looking in a different direction. However, stealing an item from the shop causes Link's name to be replaced with the title "THIEF." He will be called as such by every character in the game—even the Wind Fish—for the remainder of his journey.

Most people don't try it, but as a kid I felt a little slighted by the end game god beast refering to me by my one time misdeed :(

Zelda isn't really a role playing game. You don't get to speak. Few, if any NPCs can be attacked. Pretty much everyone is friendly. It's not exactly trying to go for realism.

Sakon was a memorable case for me. I’m pretty sure he’s the only regular human you can kill in the whole series
