Reminds me of https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XFZ5l9SaIVw&feature=youtu.be Have to say his idea is really a good one, elegant enough.

The allure of quasi-portability is real. I was a college freshman when the Mac Cube came out, and I bought one with an Apple LCD display so that I could (1) have a computer that I could bring home in my carry-on luggage, and (2) not have to settle for the G3 processors in the 2000-era PowerBooks.

Apple ahead of the competition, windows 11 feels like a joke compared to the latest version of macOS (bugs aside)

And then the HW...

Microsoft should be ashamed, and Apple is missing a huge opportunity to grab that audience, even though it's shrinking year after year, Apple's pricing is still too high, they should tap into the low-medium range and finally annihilate windows

I'm sad Hackintosh will be a thing of the past with the focus on ARM, there is still 0 competition for consumer grade ARM dekstop CPU, a shame..

I’ve be been waiting for the refreshed Mac Minis for a few months now, with the intention of getting one to replace my laptop and Caldigit hub combo. I was hoping they would be announced at Tuesday’s event but this seems to suggest it might not be until summer which would be disappointing.

Why do you want to replace it with a Mac mini instead of a Mac laptop? Personally, I'm waiting for the low-end MBP to be announced — hopefully with all the same ports as the new MBPs — and I'll get one of those. These do look nice, but I have to be portable, and an iPad doesn't cut it for me.

These look really interesting! I need a laptop to be able to travel (both locally and long-distance), but I spend most of my time working at a desk in my home. It would be great to have a more powerful desktop computer, but I have no idea how to juggle multiple Macs. I imagine myself going to start a presentation somewhere and realizing the file is on my other computer. Ditto for browser tabs.

Does anyone have suggestions on how to juggle multiple Macs?

For browser tabs browser sync is pretty much a solved problem ( no idea how well Safari does this, but Firefox and Chromium-based browsers have been good for years). For files, it'd require some discipline and tooling - using a cloud sync service like Dropbox or OneDrive or whatever, and always putting important files in places where it'd be synced. Also, with a remote access service ( Chrome Remote Desktop? Wireguard VPN + VNC? Whatever works best for you) you could keep access to your desktop remotely from your laptop if you need to grab a file last minute.

Do you really need multiple Macs?

Ever since USB C came about, I just have one MacBook which acts as desktop (and laptop). USB C requires just one cable to charge my MacBook and transmit video. Aka I plug in the "power cable" and boom I got a desktop PC. (The monitor has an integrated USB hub).

Dropbox solves this. I run multiple Linux computers and have my Downloads, Code and Docs folders synced between all computers. Works flawlessly.
