This is why Google Sheets should be taking over the world. API-accessible, Javascript-scriptable, nice collaboration features. How are they not beating Excel online?

It's a horrific product for anyone who actually has to use a spreadsheet for work. The developers seem pre-occupied with building strange bells and whistles while ceding power user functionality to Excel. Using Excel vs. Google Sheets saves me easily 20 hours a week.

Aren't they? Do people use excel online for anything but viewing spreadsheets they have received via email or Teams etc? What they probably aren't beating is Excel the desktop app.

UI performance is awful. And desktop Excel is also scriptable.

Pretty impressive; all the layout, the logic and the end result. It actually made it somehow "easier" to play. Great work!

Thank you! Oftentimes when playing Wordle, I use the address bar to write out the letters that I got right like so: T__ST. This allows me to visualize how I might fill the gaps. Playing in the spreadsheet definitely feels easier for me.

Since the Settings sheet hosts the list of past and future Wordles, this also serves as an archive and a way to play the next games.

Also, the user can add a timed trigger to reset the game (and move on to the next word) on a 24 hour cycle, just like the real Wordle. But I left it as a manual item to click in the menu.

We have a local make games group and just had a meeting last week. One of the participants it seems is making a little game in PowerPoint, after which we started joking about other tools such as Excel/Sheets.

They can be quite powerful in the right hands.
