All those paragraphs on diversity and inclusion and NOTHING on disability.

Wonder when the narrative will shift to diversity that actually prevents jobs and not just positive PR spins…

It's obviously just mindless parroted drivel, and a red flag for candidates (putting emojis into article titles is another one, it signals that the whole thing is just not really serious and not for mature people).

I'm a little thrown. The term "residency" , the openness of the problem set and the description of the deliverable (publishing) make it sound academic largess. However, it seems unclear how IP rights are determined. It seems strange that that's not mentioned at all in the FAQs.

I went back on forth if the goal was to apply existing techniques to unexplored problems or discover new techniques.

Can I work on a model that will score a body of text as being overtly political, similar to how sentiment analysis works? The goal would be to provide a tool for authors to generate text that performs equally across a diverse cross section of the population regardless of age, location, political affiliation, etc.

the explicitly non-discriminatory invite here might be awkwardly worded (people with accents other than mine?) .. but, overall bravo, IMHO this is relevant and timely; non-hype in other words. I hope the PIs get adventurous and look to sources of digital data from the analog world, or older instrument types, to include in this unique investigative context.
