Any tips on how to mass delete Gmail

My storage is getting full. How can I mass delete emails or massively reduce storage in Gmail? Will deleting drive files reduce? any way to mass delete?

I use a combination of the following search terms to find the emails to select and delete:

  * larger:XXXmb (e.g., larger:10mb)
  * in:promotions
  * in:forums
  * in:unread

It would be helpful to have the chance to filter those emails not marked as being important. However there is no such feature at the moment, akaik.

That is a good tip. I've never used that search method.

Any idea how to delete all emails of a search without having to go though multiple pages? This is not possible?

One option is to use IMAP and connect to your gmail account using a email client (I use Thunderbird) once you connect, sort the mailbox by size and then delete as required.

Another thing to remember is that file on your Google Drive and Photos are also using up space, make sure you clean up over there as well to free space.
