Many of us use pomodoro technique to focus on our work. There are many apps that help with this. The most popular one is Forest.
But the smartphone is a source of distraction itself. Before you can open the app you have to unlock your phone, see notifications, see alluring social media icons, etc. That's why we thought it was better to use a separate device for this.
ShinyTimer - made in the shape of a simple button with a screen. When you click on it, it starts the timer and blocks distracting sites with the chrome extension. There's also a colored glowing around the device that lets people around you know you're trying to focus and better bother you a little later.
There is an analog called Timechi, which gather around 250k$ on Indiegogo, but they struggle with manufacturing for two years. We can do better.
