Hacker News Moderates with Only One Person and Their Biases

Does anyone have experience with this? Dang told me this is what is used to moderate the site by himself. I wonder how one person moderates this site all alone and what tools he is using to make these decisions. Is anyone else curious about what terms or things Dang allows and also doesn't allow?

There is a lot of community based moderation. It is not just Dang, though he is the primary admin and final decision maker, when it comes to his attention. He does not see everything.

That's the programming language upon which HN (and moderation tools?) is built, afaik

It seems to be a fairly high-performance approach.

You need more karma points to see the 'flag' button, even more to see the downvote button. 1000 of users can flag and downvote on Hackernews.

Yeah, I wonder why certain people are allowed to obtain that many points to begin with? Almost as if you "play by the book" on a website dedicated to, wait for it, NOT playing by the rules.
