How much of that GDP is actually accessible to western companies?

If you’re a tech company, you’re not selling for China too long before they cut you out. India will require you to partner 49% with a local company. And Russia is increasingly isolated.

And the UK will throw a few tantrums as Boris Johnson needs to somehow show that not being part of the EU has some impact, even if it’s negative (wanting to switch from metric to imperial, lol…industry and retailers in the UK, many ardent Brexit supporters, are publicly complaining), to distract from his personal illegalities, but end of the day they will either join the single market and follow EU commercial rules anyways, or find that they are imposed on them because no one is manufacturing UK specific products.

this article is literally about the government stating that they won't be following EU rules, so you've concluded the exact opposite?

meanwhile both major political parties have stated they have no desire to rejoin the EU single market (as that would entail freedom of movement, a no-no for the electorate)

> or find that they are imposed on them because no one is manufacturing UK specific products.

possibly, but it's not going to be EU rules as the EU's importance and power are in terminal decline
