As someone who comes from a culture that encourages conformity to arbitrary social conventions, I was happy to wear a mask for the last two years. But I do wonder what is the response to this on the merits. Were the people in videos just crackpots? Or did we learn more about how masks work in six months of a global emergency than we had in previous decades of careful and systematic study?
