Hi HN,

It's taking more time than we planned to raise and my savings are starting to decrease.

My background is in portfolio management (managing money at an asset manager/hedge fund) and software engineering (data science/data infrastructure).

I'm wondering what resources I should be using to find freelance work/part-time work to pay the bills.

So far, I've done a few things on Upwork, but there's not enough fitting jobs to make good money. I've also done the whole process of Toptal but was told (at the end, great!) that there is no portfolio management jobs on the platform...

Where can I find part-time employment/freelance jobs in portfolio management/data science/data infrastructure these days?

When you ask “where can I find part-time employment…” do you mean a place to find work or a field/sub-field to work in? Not suggesting you make a huge pivot but maybe try adding some services/areas of competency to target for work. Everyone is different, though, when I’m in freelance mode I’ll basically do anything that pays right.

Thanks, I'm looking for recommendations on portals/websites where part-time/freelance work is advertised. Basically, how can I find this type of work for my skills. Between my start-up and this search, I don't have the time to learn more skills.

When you say portfolio management, what do you mean? Who would be your typical customer?

I mean I have experience in cross-asset portfolio management in an asset management firm/hedge fund, managing money. Not clear, updating the post.
