Ask HN: A Pragmatic Guide to Web Dev

2 points| poplarstand | 3 years ago

Hey folks,

I started work as a consultant roughly half a year ago, and in doing so, have found myself pulled into more and more web development projects.

Although it isn't really my area of expertise, I've been happy to provide support for the poor overworked tech leads involved, and would like to build out a better understanding of the State of the Art.

Are there any mid-level books or resources that you'd recommend? The 18f engineering guide* is my current standard for helpful information.

Not authoritative but Mozilla Hacks, CSS Tricks, Mozilla Developer Network (MDN), Smashing Magazine, Dev.to and devdocs.io are all my go to staples. There are many more resources but those have served me well over the years.
