In the space of social bookmarking, consider https://web.hypothes.is/ for all the many reasons enumerated in TheVerge piece. Hypothes.is allows you to either work in their public repo, or create your own private - sharable - repos (topics), or, for that matter, install the server yourself.

I use Brave so I have a bookmaking app built in.

I have one common set of bookmarks on my phone, tablet, desktop and laptop along with the best default security and privacy available in a browser.

Linkace does all that and self host. Also free auto saving to internet archive.

No worry about a company going defunct or reneging promises down the road
