If people in my IN group, who I trust, kept telling me that student loans would be forgiven, then I'd go get a bunch of student loans too! True or not, some people think its going to happen.
I had no concept of loan forgiveness when I went to school. I still got the student loans for $60K and am still paying them off to this day. There are far more nuanced and varied reasons for people to take out student loans than "their political beliefs convinced them they won't have to pay for it later, those silly out-groupers".
