This is really interesting because just a few weeks ago, they announced a merger with IronSource. This merger is contingent on that one falling through so it doesn't look like some grand consolidation.
I really wonder what's happening behind the scenes. This looks like a ploy from AppLovin to wedge itself into the IronSource merger. IronSource has a bad reputation to say the least so this looks like an olive branch where AppLovin is giving Unity the change to still get the tech without the reputation hit.
