The world population has increased by ~154% since 1962, not 267%. You have to go back to some time in the 1930s for the higher growth figure to be true.
There is in a perfect functioning system that tries to distribute resources and use the in a practical manner. The current system is on a path of destruction and IMHO those that don't see it are primarily thinking short term.
