I'm a big ChromeOS fan—even develop apps specifically for the platform—but I think this is the death knell for premium Chromebooks.

Why should anyone else invest in high quality hardware when Google is unwilling to? Very unfortunate.

"High end" is a contradiction with Chromebooks.

When my son was in school, the Chromebooks issued to students would buck the usual direction of the industry and get worse in performance every year. After all, if kids got computers that were capable at all they'd play
