This is such a poor idea I can't even describe. Apple discourages using AirTags on pets yet alone a family member. It depends on the serendipity of them going near an Apple device which seems highly unlikely considering the common problem of them wandering away from their home or facility into some unpopulated area.

Plus you have to remove the speaker since it would alert frequently since it's no longer within BT range of it's owner iPhone. That's Apple's anti stalking feature.

If you want to track a loved one get a GPS tracker on them with cellular connectivity. They're cheap, always can report location and are far the better solution.
