This reminds me of the black fax campaigns back in the 90's.
Basically they were Denial of Service, because the objective was to send endless pages of black pages through fax so you would either use up their ink, or burn out their thermopaper heating thing, depending on their fax technology at the time.
Doesn't work or even matter today. But it was an expensive attack in the 90's.
