What I find frustrating is that eink displays are "expensive" when you want one that you can use with your hardware projects like an ESP32 or raspberry pi.
However you can get replacement screens and old e-readers for super cheap but these displays can not be easily used or not at all in your own projects.
If you don't mind the extra latency that comes with color e-ink the Boox Nova Air C will do exactly what you want. They're the only color Play capable Android option at the moment.
Personally I'm giving color e-ink another generation or two and just sticking to B&W on my readers for now.
