i mean that nowadays apple became not THE THING, but AVERAGE THING, like M-processors are supergreat, but new mac designs are meh. new macOS versions looks like gnome theme fully bugged. just saw news about adding touchscreen to macbooks - are we became LENOVO YOGA PAD PRO MAX etc.?

Not even Apple cares about design beyond the low bar of looking slightly more polished than the competition. If I had to pick an "iconic" contemporary computer, it would be a naked Raspberry Pi.
